What’s on in London this October?

Summer may be over but that only means one thing: London is ready to usher in its most beautiful season! There are so many wonderful things to do in London during autumn. This time of year is ideal for a crunchy walk in the green spaces that encircle the best 3 star hotels, Central Park or a sumptuous afternoon tea when temperatures plummet. Check out what’s on in London this October and add some of these special events to your diary.

Illuminated River Boat Tours 

Nine of London’s bridges are participating in the Illuminated River scheme. This sees the structures illuminated under the night sky in celebration of their architectural, social, and historical importance. During October, Uber Boat by Thames Clippers is hosting special events to help you experience the beauty of the River Thames. Tours run at 9.30 pm nightly and last 40 minutes.

Jurassic World: The Exhibition 

If you are travelling with dinosaur fanatics, do not miss Jurassic World: The Exhibition at the Excel Centre. The touring exhibition promises to take you the closest you’ll ever come to living dinosaurs. You will board a boat to Nusa Island from where you will walk alongside the likes of Velociraptor, Brachiosaurus, and Tyrannosaurus Rex. We highly recommend pairing the experience with streaming the original film while staying at hotels in London.

Diwali on Trafalgar Square

Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is celebrated by the Hindu and Sikh communities in London in October. The annual Diwali on Trafalgar Square returns for its 21st year complete with cultural performances and beautiful light displays. This year’s event is scheduled for Sunday, 9 October and is expected to be live-streamed at the same time.

Shakespeare at the Globe

Time is running out if you want to catch a performance by the Royal Shakespeare Company at Shakespeare’s Globe. The season concludes at the end of October. Productions running this month include The Tempest, Much Ado About Nothing, Henry VIII, and I, Joan. You can purchase standing tickets for as little as £5. Halloween at the London Dungeon

London’s scariest attraction pulls out all the stops in time for October and Halloween. A special Halloween event will run from mid until late October and permit access to the dungeon as well as an exhibition devoted to London’s most haunted building; the attic at 50 Berkeley Square. The Making of Harry Potter: Discover the Dark Arts 

If you are bringing children to stay with you in 3 star hotels, Central Park, they’ll be delighted to visit the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour. In time for the spooky season, the facility is hosting Discover the Dark Arts. The darkest film sets are recreated with dimmed lights, original props, and double the atmosphere. Furthermore, you have the opportunity to practice your own wand combat skills.
