Things to this weeked in London 12-14th July

Summer has arrived in London which means there’s no excuse not to snap up a weekend deal. This weekend, Friday 12th – Sunday 14th July, brings an exciting line-up of sporting, music, and cultural activities in London. Book a stay at Central Park Hotel Bayswater directly for the best rates and exclusive perks, and look forward to spending your weekend in London as follows.

  1. Wimbledon Championships Final

The Championships 2024 at Wimbledon draw to a close this weekend on Sunday 14th July. Over the course of the weekend, we will witness the Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Singles and Doubles finals, the Ladies’ Wheelchair Singles final, and the Gentlemen’s & Quad Wheelchair Singles finals alongside junior contests. It’s possible to queue up for a grounds’ ticket to experience the action although this does require an early start. Fortunately, the pubs and hotels near Oxford Street London will broadcast the events.

  1. Everyman Cinema on the Canal

Perhaps the coolest of all pop-up cinema events this summer in London, Everyman on the Canal takes place in Granary Square on the banks of the Regent’s Canal. This weekend will see screenings of the Wimbledon Finals followed by films in the evening. These include Back To The Future, Wonka, Grease, and Dune. All screenings are free to attend and seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

  1. Buckingham Palace Annual Summer Opening

The iconic royal palace only opens its doors for a couple of weeks over summer and the time is upon us. The annual summer opening allows you to wander the State Rooms, Throne Room, and Palace Gardens and find out about the inner workings of the modern British monarchy. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Did you know that the Central Park Hotel Bayswater is located within walking distance of Buckingham Palace?

  1. RA Summer Exhibition

The Royal Academy’s annual Summer Exhibition is now open until late August. This is your opportunity to peruse established artists excited alongside emerging names, with works including paintings, sculpture, photography, film, and more. This popular art exhibition always provides food for thought and plenty to talk about over dinner on Oxford Street London. It’s also possible to purchase original artworks at the gallery.

  1. Climb Festival

This is one of the most niche things to do this weekend in London. The Climb Festival will occur at Canary Wharf on Saturday and Sunday and see the world’s strongest, bravest, nimblest climbers go head to head. It’s fun for the whole family to watch, no matter where you stand on climbing and heights. Live DJs and street food stalls will accompany the climbing contests.

  1. BST Hyde Park

The blockbuster music event that takes place in the city’s largest park will have its most exciting line-up to date this weekend. The legendary Stevie Nicks will take the stage on Friday followed by the iconic Kyle Minogue on Saturday and the ultra-cool Stray Kids on Sunday. The headliners will be joined by an incredible line-up of support acts and tickets are still available for all three. It all takes place on the doorstep of the Central Park Hotel Bayswater so don’t hesitate to secure a room today.
