A romantic Saturday in London

Start your day with a leisurely breakfast. Our hotels in Central London offer guests a choice of continental or full English breakfast.

Following breakfast, take a stroll through Hyde Park. During summer, you may also rent a rowing boat on the Serpentine Lake. Otherwise, you can fill your morning with wandering through the garden plots, admiring the statues, and visiting the two art galleries within the park.

Leaving Hyde Park, you can stop for lunch on Knightsbridge. This shopping hub has a wide variety of international restaurants including Italian, Japanese, Lebanese, and North American. There are also several pubs serving traditional English dishes.

Moving onwards, you can walk to Buckingham Palace and peer through the gates. Continuing eastward brings you to Parliament Square where you can take selfies with Big Ben.

At this point, you can decide between a ride on the London Eye – one of London’s top romantic tourist attractions – and taking a boat ride. Scenic cruises and speedboat rides depart from Westminster Pier.

After this, you may wish to return to the hotel to unwind. The Central Park Hotel in Bayswater is an easy hop on the Circle Line (Bayswater Station) or Central Line (Queensway Station).

In the evening, you can experience a West End production in Covent Garden, dine at one of Mayfair’s fine dining restaurants, or catch a comedy show in Soho.

Sunday in London

Travel east to the Columbia Road Flower Market where you can enjoy the fresh blooms. You may even want to buy a bouquet to take home as a reminder of your romantic weekend away. There are lots of cute independent cafes around the market where you can relax with a coffee and brunch.

Call in at the Barbican Centre where you can wander through the botanical garden and admire the species from all around the world. Nearby, the Postman’s Park is a touching tribute to those who risked or sacrificed their lives to save others. It’s a peaceful spot where you will appreciate a moment of calm, especially on a Sunday afternoon in London.

Complete your weekend by taking in the river and skyline views from Millennium Bridge and viewing the collection at Tate Modern. This landmark modern art gallery will provide you with hours’ worth of conversation. Make your way to the top-floor cafe where you can share a slice of cake and savour the view before heading home.
